Interior Design Illustrate is a really good foundation book for beginner interior designers. This Book is written by Francis D.K. Ching whom is an architecture and design writer. This book of his depicts information that help everyone understand the principles of design.
This book covers primary details of elements in architectural space, interior space, exterior space, structural buildings, the lighting from the surrounding and more. This is an important textbook because this book help you understand more on interior design principle, the element, the structural building and the space design. This book can help you improve your space planning skill by having illustration and keynote explaining reason what the design should be like according to the surrounding of the area. I personally enjoy this book when I first started learning and understanding the interior design principle because it guided me with my space planning and helped me understand more on the architectural building. Besides the design principle, it also have relevant information regarding to the materials, lighting systems and also acoustics. These are all crucial knowledge for interior designer to understand.
There was one part of this book where I did not find it that it did not belong was the design vocabulary. The reason toward this is because this book in focusing on design theory and principle. The design vocabulary should be in a book which talks about more on the business side rather than the design theory and principle.
Overall, I find this textbook useful and the information in this book can be really helpful for young designer to understand the design principle for interior. This book was also really good for people whom do not like to read because this book have a lot of illustration therefore there are less texts for explaining.
