Success by Design – The Essential Business Reference for Designers is a book which targets all designers from different field. The book was written by David Sherwin whom is a British screenwriter well known for his collaborations works. The book mainly depicts the truth about what young designers have to go through in their early year work experience. This book caught my attention because I am a young designer who have not had much experience so this book can help me to prepare myself.
I really enjoyed reading this book because it taught me a lot about the struggles which almost all young designers or designers at their early work experience have faced. This book teaches me to know how work with clients or how to deal with difficult customers, how to manage our projects and how to estimate costs for the clients and lastly this book talked about how to run or operate our own design firm. I found the information depicted towards each and every topic that it is very detailed and very easy to understand.

What I found interesting about this book was, I had witness something which related to one of the topic in side. There was a point in the book talking about how we cannot wait for the market to come to us, but we need to go and find it. This is really true because during my internship, I saw my boss going out of his office everyday looking for more clients rather than just sitting and waiting for client to come to him.
Overall, I think “Success by Design – The Essential Business Reference for Designers” contains interesting information for all designers from different field. This book can really teach and get young designers to prepare for the future. One thing that I found missing from the content is to give knowledge to understand more on your employees or your coworkers. I think that understanding the coworkers is really important because there could be a miscommunication between the two and a lot can go wrong with that.
